I have really enjoyed being involved in the Stay At Home Choir Webinars, which involved rehearsing over 800 singers for a virtual performance of Sir James MacMillan’s ‘O Radiant Dawn’. It was also lovely to see a couple of familiar faces from my choirs on Zoom at the webinars. Even though I have sung this piece many times with The Sixteen, hearing Sir James MacMillan talk about his thoughts behind the piece was fascinating and added to my love of the music. The text resonates for all of us at this time. ‘O Radiant Dawn, Spendour of eternal light’. ‘Shine on those that dwell in darkness’.
